Mohini Jain, philanthropist, retired teacher and longtime resident of Davis, has made a $1.5 million gift to the 榴莲视频, Davis, to advance the study of Jainism, one of the world鈥檚 most revered and ancient philosophies.

The gift will establish the Mohini Jain Presidential Chair for Jain Studies in the Department of Religious Studies as part of a larger effort to position UC Davis as a leader in the study of Indian religions and the interdisciplinary field of South Asia studies broadly.

Record Generosity: $38.5 Million for UC Davis Vision Science

The UC Davis Health System today (March 10) announced receiving $38.5 million in gifts and pledges from Ernest E. Tschannen to support the UC Davis Eye Center and the Center for Vision Science. These gifts make Tschannen the largest individual donor to UC Davis in the university鈥檚 108-year history.
