* Dec. 17 and 18, Tuesday and Wednesday -- Experts from industry, academia, government agencies and other groups will discuss the status and future of wind energy in ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ at a two-day forum organized by the ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ Wind Energy Consortium at UC Davis. Keynote speakers include Terry Surles, director of the ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ Energy Commission's Public Interest Energy Research program, and Randy Abernathy, Vice President of Market Services for the ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ Independent System Operator. Panel discussions will focus on issues in planning and developing wind energy plants, market expansion and small or distributed wind energy systems. The forum will be held in the Buehler Alumni and Visitor's Center on the UC Davis campus.
